Memphis was a great team that we played the other day. They were probably one of the best offensive teams that we've seen so far. We stopped the ball on them and look what happened.
I think Washington was the toughest team we played this season. Gonzaga couldn't handle the intensity of our guards. Washington had no problem with that.
It feels like we're being overlooked. We haven't got the recognition all year.
It doesn't matter. When we first came into the tournament, no one realized what we could do. By the end of the day when you win games and get here, it doesn't really matter.
That's what has caused us to win games. If the offense isn't working, we can turn it over and rely on defense.
We got exposed on defense. Guards were just going right around us, like we weren't even trying. That was frustrating to us.
We just made too many mistakes on defense. We broke down a lot with our help. But they knew what they were doing. And Noah was a monster inside. Both big guys, they were just going after everything.
At the beginning of the season, we didn't know how good we'd be. But as we got closer (as a team), I think we were all saying this team is special. We can make big things happen.
As a team we have to learn from our mistakes. But I can't get over this because we have such great seniors and they really deserved to win.
That showed me frustration right there. He was mad and tired. He was beat. You could see it clearly.
They didn't know what we could bring to the table, especially on defense. That defensive intensity I don't think a lot of teams know how strong this team is going to be on defense. . . . I think they were a little bit frustrated and confused.
This loss hurts. We're going to remember this feeling, and it's going to stay in the back of our heads. We'll definitely be back.
It's going to definitely put a scar on us. We're going to remember this feeling.
It was like one of those practices we usually have in the beginning of the year. It was so hard. Everybody was getting physical, everybody was competing.
They looked surprised and confused by what we were doing on defense. Then we just kept trying to push the ball down their throats until they were tired. You could tell 'Big Baby' was frustrated. That turns on our post players when they see that.
It was just a horrible feeling to lose to your own rivals, especially when you're the team that's supposed to beat them.
I'm really surprised the game was this easy. This was our easiest game since Belmont.
Ah, man. No words to explain it. We just played hard and showed some heart down the stretch. It's my first comeback ever. That's why I feel so great.
