Last year's Summer of Love' Pet Adoption Program was a remarkable success, with 122 dogs and 154 cats adopted, ... We hope that by extending this program and waiving adoption fees, Hempstead Town will be able to continue helping residents experience the joy of pet ownership and giving these animals good homes with loving owners.

We at Hempstead Town want to make it easier for our residents to adopt one of our animal shelter's wonderful cats and dogs. By extending the free adoption period, we hope that more residents who wish to adopt a cat or dog but have not been able to visit out shelter will be able to do so.
