Dave Bush was really, really good. He kept his pitch count down. He got us through seven innings, which was big. He was spotting his fastball really well.
He was as sharp as he could be. He was just great. He was so sharp through the seventh inning that I hated to take him out.
Really, we had three pretty good games. Rick Helling definitely gave us that opportunity for that to happen today. He had seven real strong innings. He has done a real nice job with his opportunities.
Lehr was up seven straight times, ready to come in (for certain situations). Getting up and sitting back down takes more out of you than coming in games. You can't keep doing that.
He's going to be a 3, 4, 5 hitter throughout his career. He's not going to sit in the seventh spot. And I don't know if you've noticed lately but we haven't been winning too many games, so something's broke.
Brady is seven days out and still four or five days away in the best-case scenario. Going into Houston another left-handed bat off the bench will help us.
That's one thing about the Cardinals, they're not going to lay down and die. Even after we scored seven runs I wasn't comfortable. They can put runs on the board in a hurry.
