The very first time I had Whitney Houston on my show, however many years ago, I thought, "You are 'the voice.'" You are the voice, that was my name for you.
One of my purposes is to use the television show as a voice to not only entertain people, as I did in the beginning, but as a source of information, as a source of enlightenment, wherever we can, and also as a source of lifting people up wherever you can.
There are so many people who've come before me who deserved to be tired. Who didn't have the opportunities, who didn't have the access, who didn't have the money, who didn't have the influence, who didn't have the voice.
There is the voice that everybody hears... saying to you, "You should do this, you should be this, you ought to, you got to." And then there is the still small voice - for some people not so small - inside every human being that calls you to something that is greater than yourself.
Alone time is when I distance myself from the voices of the world so I can hear my own.
Making other people happy is what brings me happiness. I have a blessed life, and I have always shared my life's gifts with others. I will continue to use my voice and my life as a catalyst for encouraging people to help make a difference in the lives of others.
When you don't know what to do, do nothing. Get quiet so you can hear the still, small voice.
If you let it, the noise of the world will drown out the voice of God, which is your intuition.
Always listen to your inner voice.
To come from no voice, no power, and to be able to achieve what I have means that only my own personal vision holds me back.
Check your ego at the door and check your gut instead. Every right decision I have ever made has come from my gut. Every wrong decision I've made was the result of me not listening to the greater voice of myself
It's fulfilling being able to do this kind of television. And I believe continuing to have a voice and a platform to speak to the world is still the right thing to do.
