It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I tender my resignation to you as an employee of the city of San Diego.
The recruitment process has been going on for a couple of months. When they called and asked if I was interested, I said yes.
There was just this release of raw emotion. They just about had me in tears.
Our goal and role is to preserve their dignity and give them some time to be able to reassess, to get them some services that they require. Then, they can move along with their lives and start the rebuilding process.
We are well prepared for what we normally see 98 percent of the time, that minor to moderate incident.
