Where I've come from, I've heard trash talking before. Once we settled down, once we caught a couple passes, you kind of tune that out.
When you bring in guys like Derrick and Justin, they are going to be the first guys mentioned because they have credit from high school. People know they can be successful at the next level.
Nobody feels any seniority, nobody feels like they're better than anybody else or anything like that. We're a team. A family. And we learn from one another and help each other out.
I didn't really put any extra pressure on myself because Derrick wasn't there. We've got so many good receivers, guys who can get open, that there's no need to do that.
I didn't really look for them. I knew that once I saw the jellyfish, that anything goes.
But they didn't have enough rope to pull me up. So they called the Jet Ski people and waited with me until they came and got me.
I think in the end our fans will take over. Our fans are just so loud and crazy. It would definitely be a sight to see our fans right there with them tomahawking.
It brings a whole new excitement going to somebody else's field and just taking it over and making it your own.
That was the longest 20 minutes of my life.
Usually, when you're one of the better kids in your area, there's a lot of people that try to talk to you.
When the freshmen came in and we saw how good they were and we started to run a lot of three- and four-receiver sets in practice, that's when we started to think that this might be a special year.
We all love to see each other do well. We all love to help each other.
We all learn from each other and it's not really who's name is in the headline. It doesn't matter to me whose name is in the headline when we get to a bowl game; it's just that we get there.
Those true freshmen deserve all the media attention they're getting.
The waves are taking me farther away from the shore and I'm getting real scared.
People can't recognize my face unless they are super diehard like they do with Derrick or Justin. If I say I'm No. 3, then people know who I am.
Once you hit a couple big passes, they tune themselves out. They weren't talking as much; that helps.
As I was turning around to come back. My engine shut off and it ran out of gas.
As you can see, once Michael gets into a groove his passing gets better. And that's our job as receivers, to start making catches and make him feel confident.
Derrick definitely affected all of us. The first couple days of practice, when he didn't know anybody, he wanted to be the first to go into a drill. He wanted to prove from day one he was the best. He made me better.
The biggest thing I see is just raw talent. It's just scary to me that once they actually get game experience and calm down and settle down, how well they'll play together. Right now, they're just playing mostly off their raw talent.
It kind of brought me back to reality. To let me know I can do it. I knew I could do it before, but you kind of need to do it to reassure yourself.
They weren't great catches. We just ran the route.
Once Mike got comfortable he started hitting the deep passes, and we started picking them apart. It was definitely a big confidence thing. People saw what we can do.
The cornerback (Dailey) bailed out pretty hard. I didn't get too close to him. He was backing up so fast.
I'm not the type of guy that needs to be in the spotlight and sometimes I used it as motivation. Those guys are great and I'd like to do what they do. I just felt that, when I get my chance, I'd be able to do some things that they do.
