Obviously, this game was a struggle from minute one. We clearly lost the game in the first half. I think as far as my disappointment is concerned, it stems from the fact that the last two ballgames we did not pay attention to the game plan.

He was the guy who got that attack mentality going. When it got close in the second half, he was just going. His decision-making in that situation was very good, as it usually is.

With the right attitude and commitment, Al could rejoin us following the first semester. We will do everything we can as a staff to support him and provide the necessary resources he needs to succeed in the classroom.

When they see that type of competitive spirit, they will be able to appreciate this team, even if they don't have as many wins as they would like to see. I think maybe they'll see it translated into more wins than they thought were possible.

That was obviously frustrating. We fouled him intentionally. There was an expectation that he was going to miss. We just got caught flat-footed.

When it comes to how we are recognized, we're paid professionals. If I'm going to be recognized, it's going to be by my administrators. It's going to be in the form of a contract extension or a perk or something like that. A trophy doesn't really mean anything.

We can't make it the rest of the season with five guys. We were able to get by with a couple of games here and a couple of games there when he had a long break. Now that we're playing twice a week, we have to be eight deep. I feel like we are. With Tay, I was just trying to get a feel for him. He expressed himself candidly where he thought he could improve. I told him where I saw him fitting in and what I expected of him and he was sure he could provide that.

With his demeanor, his ability to get along with his teammates, everything, I've just been blessed. I haven't had too many in this business like Kenny Hasbrouck.

You never anticipate each one of them playing to their maximum ability.

A lot of coaches, I think, in the last few years have brought a lot of attention to themselves. Coaches need to coach and let the players play. The recognition needs to go to players exclusively. There are too many coaches who call attention to themselves. I'm not going to do that.

It will be interesting to see which direction Steve goes. He's very intelligent in these matters. I'm confident that somewhere along the way he'll be having a conversation (with Taylor).

They came out and really shot well. We let them get a big lead, and we can't do that. Teams settle down when that happens.

Anytime you want to consider yourself one of the better teams in the league you have to win on the road. It's one thing to say, 'Yeah, we're playing well on the road,' and, 'Yeah, we're competing on the road.' But ultimately, you have to win.

I have people that work for me that report to me. I report to other people. I have a budget to control. I have correspondence that leaves this office and comes to me. I have to manage my time and my assistant coaches.
