I fully understand where he's coming from, he's probably only got so many games left in him and wants to show a fair bit of loyalty to the club that's been very good to him over the years.

That was as expected by the medical staff - they'll be fine.
He was doubtful through the week, the medical staff didn't think he would play and he kept constantly convincing me he was going to play.
We've worked with him for a number weeks now to school him up in that department and I thought he handled it well.
There were some patches of play that were quite good and you can't be right on your game in the first game of the season. We're really happy we won and won by that score but it's a hard season.
