Some of the younger athletes, like Lauren Scott , Steven Bach and Terrell Thompson , have the ability to do that. At the Big Ten meet, I tell all of our athletes to focus on beating bodies, not on jumping a certain distance or running a certain time. If you focus on beating people, those things will come.

I think last week made them hungry and made them realize they can qualify. I think they've got their sights set on regionally qualifying. I told them to run anyone over if they got in their lane.

David has dealt with a hip injury of late. It will be important for the guys that he scores points for the team even if he is not feeling great.

I was looking for seventh but the main objective was to get off of the bottom. And we did that and now we have several kids competing at the national level.

IU returns their whole team. They finished second in the Big Ten last season, so they will be good.
