We are all just really excited to get back on track. This program has a huge tradition of success and some of us feel like we let that tradition down last year. There is a renewed level of energy and effort to go out there and prove ourselves.
I was so proud of our defensive line. The stepped in and played well, showing a lot of maturity and composure.
We didn't get the job done in the first half. We controlled most of the game, but that doesn't mean anything at the end of the game. We were too content in the first half. . . The ball didn't bounce our way tonight. Some games, (shots) go in, sometimes they don't. We'll bounce back.
This was a great team effort all the way around. We played so well together and executed our game plan. We wanted to pressure them from the very beginning and that's exactly what we did.
We are excited about the potential of these players. They are three talented and experienced athletes, who have excelled at the high school, club and ODP (Olympic Development Program) levels. We expect great things from them both on and off the field.
