When this house was built, there was probably a lady's bedroom and a gentleman's bedroom. The lady would have had a dressing room off to the side, and she probably had a dressing assistant.
This part of the house is about 150 years old, so we tried to do as little as possible to maintain its authenticity.
In the attic of the addition, we found the original paint color of the house (cream with gold and black trim). It was almost like a time capsule.
I don't think the fact that it was a funeral home created any particular challenges. There are no ghosts, although we had a couple of new windows break, and we don't know why.
