He doesn't seem like he's really motivated the Democratic voter, gotten anyone's juices up. He hasn't led any crusade, and that's what you've got to do if you're running against an incumbent.
He really voiced a lot of the frustration of New Orleans. A lot of people liked that. They wanted to hear some impolitic talk.
There has been a significant loss of clout with those two guys gone.
They are all just shadows of themselves in the current circumstances. There is no apparatus like that working in this election.
It's not like they have walls to climb over in order to vote.
Forman has made a career of being the mayor's best friend, whoever the mayor is. He got urged and egged on by Uptown elite, who said this is our chance and we need to do it. Whites saw this as an opportunity after the storm.
For all these congressmen, it's an opportunity to step up and show your relevance in people's lives, ... they're not line officers, so there's a limit to what they can really do.
The best thing going for Foster is that he's had very good economic times, but besides that, he's run a clean administration and he's not been indicted.
He's strong, but not that strong that he could withstand an indictment.
