We developed more when we played in different leagues during the summer. We know Bubba is the big shooter, someone we need to get the ball to. Brad can score about anytime he wants. I can create shots. We all know our roles.
I guess I can utilize that side of the field more. I feel like I'm hitting the ball hard every time. That's key in putting pressure on the defense.
If we can win the series against South Carolina, it will put us on the map.
I struggled a lot early. The more pitches you see, the better you're going to get.
Winning the series would be a huge boost and show we can go to (NCAA) Regional and the College World Series.
We really talked about it this week because it is a big thing going undefeated in conference play. It hadn't been done for 27 years in our school's history, so we wanted to come out here with a good attitude and not overlook Delphi.
We know it is a big accomplishment. We wanted to get it done and prove a point.
We've got a brand new team, with a whole bunch of new guys. Everybody on this team wants to win, and is trying to win.
People still underestimate us. They still think we're the same Kentucky, but we can prove ourselves. If we can pull this, we'll prove to everybody that we're for real.
(Opposing teams) still think we're the underdogs. That's a good thing, though. If we beat South Carolina, which we're going to, that would be huge for us.
(Cobb) was throwing three pitches for strikes, so I went up there sitting on the change-up. I just hoped he would throw it and he did and I made good contact.
They're not getting any respect, and they're not winning any games. We've got to go out there and do what we do best and stay within ourselves. (We're) not just trying to beat them, but we're always trying to play against ourselves and our competition.
It's the biggest series I've ever played in college.
Considering all the things that have happened, he's held up pretty well ? maybe better than some people expected.
They have two big velocity guys. They try to get into a rhythm, and they threw a lot of strikes last year.
Their 1-3-1 zone all of a sudden shocked us. We prepared for it, but not as much as whenever they made baskets they would always be in it. They were so spread out. They didn't go for steals or trap us in the corner, it was just hard to move the ball around.
I just went with it (the pitch). I get a little aggressive sometimes and get out of my rhythm but I just used what they gave me.
I made a few adjustments in batting practice. The coaches said I wasn't staying balanced on my back leg.
I'm sure there are people who still think we're the underdog. That's OK. I hope people keep thinking that way. We can ride that kind of motivation.
I guess we're used to winning, this club. Hopefully, we can continue our success, and reach No. 1 instead of No. 20. The sky's the limit.
All (the pre-season accolades) are good honors, but I'm just one of nine players. I couldn't do it without my other eight.
