Here, we're feeding him once a week, but smaller portions - we don't want him just lying there sleeping it off. He gets six or seven 1- to 1 1/2-pound rats at a sitting, and he eats the entire rat in one bite. When you set out those rats you see how fast he really can run.

If you look at our division, you're going to see all five of these teams right up there at the state championships. Every time we come together, it's like a championship meet. The competition is very strong, yet the kids all get along and the coaches all get along. It's just a good league overall.

I really enjoy making a connection with the animals. Being able to care for an animal every day and being involved with the day-to-day care of an animal is very rewarding.

His goal is to take it four years in a row. No boy has ever done that, and the only girl to do it is Amy Atkins (Nevada Union graduate). If he can stay up, he can do it.
