I think some theaters have concluded that a simultaneous release model, if it were extended to the entire industry, would basically be the end of the exhibition industry as we know it. We may not have zero movie theaters in this country, but we'd certain have vastly fewer.
It does get wearisome to hear the prophets of doom say we're on the way out, because it's just not true. It's shallow thinking.
The problem for us is the pace of technology. What was once a creature comfort is now an essential. And we find that customers are passionate on both sides of the issue.
It's part of a larger issue of rude patron behavior. It's something that gets people really upset. When it does happen, it's infuriating.
