If a victim comes to us, we want to make sure that they get their needs met here. So that they're not having to go from agency to agency to agency to get help.
We explain the patients' condition at the appropriate level for the student.
It's a way to feel safer. I wouldn't want anybody to have a false sense of security by carrying a cell phone but it does make women feel safer when they have a way to call for help.
Students love it and they're excited weeks prior to the project. As far as I know we're the only school in the district that has a program like this.
