Oftentimes families will adopt two kittens, as they entertain each other while they are at work or the kids are in school.
You need to look at your lifestyle and determine how much time you have to devote to a pet. For example, a puppy is more labor intensive because of training issues than an adult dog.
We need additional help. (Volunteers) can give us as much time or as little time as they like. Any time they give us is appreciated.
In short, everyone's situation is different, everyone's needs and requirements for a pet and companion are different, but a well-trained, well-behaved pet is a pleasure and a wonderful addition to any family.
