We're not a healthy team right now. But I'm excited about Saturday. We should be healthier and we should be ready to go. Obviously, though, we'll see the same situation against a scary Sac State team.
We've tried to hammer home a lot of different points.
We're not defending and offensively we don't play together. Those are the two things that define us at this point.
Our guys did a nice job. They were ready to play. Offensively we moved the ball a lot better ... We had some energy tonight.
Marvin was pretty efficient offensively right from the get-go.
Travis is a big, strong, young kid who is only going to get better.
Those aren't ordinary freshmen. They have some toughness to them. You saw them hit some big shots tonight.
We defended pretty well all night. Our defense kept us within range. What Ted, Jacques, Derrick and Taylor (Pratt) did in the first half gave us hope and kept us close.
We've played four road games, and won two of them in hostile environments. We seem to play better in those circumstances.
We just need a Saturday win. The last two Sunday mornings have been tough.
We certainly respect those Sac State guys. They've got some really good players. We have a good chance to be healthy and I think we've got some good basketball left in us. We're real excited to play at home.
There's a good assistant out there that played for me, Danny Sprinkle. At some point I think getting him back would be good.
No question. The defense stayed constant, but obviously when you miss free throws you give them a chance.
Defensively he's also making great strides. No question he's given us a lift offensively.
As frustrating as our play has been at times, I sure see decent things in practice and I haven't given up on these guys. This is the time of year ? forget about what's happened in the past. These next two or three weeks is when you want to be playing good.
Al got going the second half. He got us some energy, and we needed it.
This is obviously an important game. The winner stays in the hunt.
Al was just a force. We talked about getting our centers some touches this weekend. They just couldn't handle Al.
They had us back on our heels the whole first half. Defensively, it just didn't seem to matter to anybody ... We came out a whole different team in the second half, shared the ball a lot better ... In the second half we were much better at both ends.
This league is balanced. We'd love to play at home for a playoff game, but we've still got some work to do in order to get that.
They're really impressive to me. They rebound it, play together, they're aggressive off the dribble, they've got some scorers.
It's frustrating. You don't want to put it in Freeman's hands late.
The last 20 minutes was great. We got into a little bit of rhythm.
I'm really shocked with the way we played.
I'm totally disappointed in how we played the first half. (The Lumberjacks) set the tempo ... We did a nice job intensity-wise and worked our tails off second half, but you can't do that. You have to come out from the get-go.
In the last eight minutes of the first half our bench guys really showed some guts and pride. And in the second half we just hung with it. We got a lot of contributions from a lot of guys.
Hopefully it breaks him loose a little bit. I'm happy with the way Nick played.
