Let me be real clear. We support coach McKay in practicing his religion privately. In fact, we defend his right to do that. It is only where he uses his authority as coach to promote his religious beliefs that we have a problem.
This looks like a shameful attempt to encourage public schools to teach Christianity.
Certainly schools can teach about Christ and his affect on Western civilization. But equally, students should be informed about Mohammed and Buddha and Friedrich Nietzsche.
Without them we would not be able to do the work we do.

But in this day and age when a student's decision to enter the military could land them directly on the field of battle, an issue like this can't be taken so lightly.
