Magnolia reminds me a lot of Deer Park. There are good, hard-working kids. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to coach them.

No one will enjoy driving to Lufkin, but it's a big state and someone's going to have to drive far.

I've been there before. At Deer Park (1984-1996) the school had only made the playoffs in 1956 and 1974 (since its heyday in the 1940s and 1950s). We made the playoffs nine of the 12 years I was there. Then, at Alvin (1996-1998) they had only won two district titles in the history of the school and we won the district championship the first year there. (made playoffs for first time in 32 years).

They tell me this is a lucky store for them.
