Belgrade authorities have knowingly taken the non-Serbs of Bosnia-Herzegovina on a path to hell, a path littered with dead bodies, broken families, lost youth, lost future.

This case is of immense importance to my country and its citizens.

This case is not aimed at individual citizens of Serbia and Montenegro. This is about state responsibility, and seeks to establish responsibility of a state which, through its leadership, and through its organs, committed the most brutal violations of the most sacred instruments of international law.

This case is before the court ... to do away with this ... falsifying of history. We are here because the Belgrade authorities have taken the non-Serbs of Bosnia on a path to hell, a path littered with dead bodies, broken families... and lost futures.

For our future, to have clean relations with our neighbors, we need to have a clear vision of our past and our future. The international court has the authority, with its judgment, to finish up these questions from our past and move on toward the future.
