We won the battle when they wanted to eliminate the program. Now the struggle is to make things work with much less money.
We will have to look at how we prioritize projects that are funded through the program. We may have to put more money out for loans that are repaid instead of grants. Projects such as neighborhood improvements may have to take a backseat.
I am confident that we could find enough savings to pay for the certificates by studying the city's current energy usage.
We would like to pursue an additional study on the city's energy usage and energy practices.
