We've seen kids take over spots. We've seen kids put on 25 to 30 pounds and get faster. Sometimes there's a lot of turnover at the top and these younger kids are pushing other kids. It's good for our program.
I would rather see this land privately developed so that it generates tax income.
He's a good kid, a fast kid, the special teams MVP for their team. He can do a lot of things, so it's nice to get him here.
Hynes did a nice job in the receiving part of his game, but everyone made mistakes out there.
He's playing exactly like we thought he would. You can see he's starting to get more confidence. We knew we have something special in that kid. You saw it today.
I think it all just caught us off-guard last week. We thought we could just turn it on, but you have to prepare for it,
I think we maybe underestimated our opponent a little bit. We weren't as focused as we needed to be and we made a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball.
I think we ought to be forgiving. The president said he's sorry. I think we need to have a proper punishment -- maybe censure by the Congress -- and move on and deal with the problems facing this county.
Our offense has been working well the last few weeks, and I don't expect that to change. The win over Bemidji was a big boost for our defense, too, because we had been having some problems, but we stopped a very good team.
I'm home, and I'm a lot better off today than I was yesterday. I just keep thanking the Lord. We're going to keep grinding this out and beat it.
That was a huge win for them at their place. Their other two wins came against teams that aren't as good, but they are still wins.
We proved to ourselves that when you do things right, good things happen. We want to build on (Saturday's) win and go against North Dakota ready to play.
We got everything we wanted. We got the people back. We got the alumni back. The setback was that we didn't perform. If we play well and get beat by 25, that's not a problem. But to play that poor and get blown out, that's no fun.
We had him here in camp and from the first day we saw him, we wanted that kid. We were happy when he committed.
We're upset. We should be upset. We got beat by a team that just wanted it more that day, and we have to rebound.
We had too many missed blocking assignments, and that takes you out of your game,
To beat Salem, you still have to stop their running game off tackle. It still starts there.
We were really hoping to be 2-0 when we got there, but we'll take 1-1. This is a great opportunity for us, and I hope we rise to the occasion and play them tough.
We have to clean things up. We're good enough on both sides of the ball that if we don't turn the ball over, we can beat anybody. I'm just not sure we can get that done right now.
This was the team we thought we had. Obviously last week we didn't get this performance, but we were much more spirited. We are very excited about it.
To hear of his passing was quite a shock.
We hired a guy with portable mill, and we heaved and hoed and we put the wood through,'' Haines said. They enlisted family and friends to help, using what McCoy called
People put a lot of pressure on our kids right now because the expectations have climbed so high. That's a compliment to our program, but it's also real, so the kids were feeling the pressure and still are now. The best way to make the pressure go away is to win.
The most important game for us each week is the one coming up. This one is the game of the week in the NSIC, and whoever wins will be in sole possession of first place.
As congressman, my voting record on these matters is clear. I know how to get things done.
Allan is an extraordinary guy. He pays attention to detail, perhaps as much as anyone I've ever known in life.
They're very athletic, have a big (offensive line) and run the ball very well. We know they come and punch you in the face and play physical. We're not playing with pansies. These guys come to play you.
This may be the best Salem team I've ever seen. Now that Central lost, Salem is the team to beat. It's a Salem team that is big and has few weaknesses.
About the only good part is that there's plenty of good football games to watch on TV.
It is really a pretty crucial time right now.
The offense was unstoppable at times, but we just couldn't get the ball in the end zone. We had almost 400 yards and only 16 points, and that was mostly because of assignments and effort.
That is our ultimate goal right now. It's a huge deal for us, and every game is just that much more important.
They've had some bumps, but they will be ready. It's going to be tough, that's for sure.
There was a mistake a play last week. This week we corrected a lot of those mistakes, and it showed as we were able to run the ball and win the game.
At 1-2, I wasn't grinding on the kids about performance or anything like that. It was about recovery. It was about understanding who we're playing and where we are with the program and where we want to go. It was about motivating to rebuild.
In the first 11 months (of Bush), they had blown it all.
(Chris) was a great kid and many of our players knew him.
I don't know how much I'll be a part of (the January visits). But I'll be there every minute I can.
