It looks like we can come to terms with this and get it resolved. I hope.
Obviously, when you're in a situation like Rita, it can be frustrating. She's done a lot of good things, and nobody wants to see that go away. She was obviously discouraged ... but the supervisor is committed to securing some funding through a couple different sources.
We'd really accomplish two things: development (area residents) need, and provide facilities for the community. It's a huge, huge major project.
We're trying to get a regional aquatic center. We'd like to get an Olympic-size pool, but we're not sure we're going to be able to accomplish that.
We're hoping that it (LIFT) can be saved. We're hoping that in the next round of (block) grants, we can get some of that money to her.
