We will continue to work with the German and the Australian embassies in Islamabad and continue to press the Taliban for information about the status of investigation of the detainees and on how the case might proceed under the Taliban legal system.
The parties have not agreed on any other basis for final status talks at this point, ... So, we'll be talking to the parties, and we will consult with them. We'll have a better idea at that point how we can best assist them to achieve peace.
We understand Japan plans to bring him there for medical treatment. Once he is there, he falls under Japanese-U.S. status policy. We intend to request custody when we have legal opportunity to do so.
