I got interested in the 8th Texas when I learned there was a captain with my name in the unit. We've all learned so much just by being here, listening and acting.
We're together as a family, out in the open air, reliving history and sharing it with people, ... Doing this give all of us a different perspective.
At Dad's funeral, it was something. I think everyone was surprised to see the whole battalion of re-enactors there. We're family and that's really cool.
