I don't know much about the teams from the East, but I find it hard to believe that there are other teams as talented as Bolivar, Haywood and Mitchell. We play each other all year in West Tennessee. You'd think they could find us someone else to play.
Whatever Josh allegedly did, I'm very shocked because Josh is a good kid. Since he's been with us, our relationship has been good. We didn't have any complaints from teachers or anything.
Josh has been dealt with accordingly, and he would have been whether the TSSAA stepped in or not. We stress the importance of sportsmanship. Those who don't follow that will be disciplined.
It didn't look good, but you've got to keep plugging away, and I felt our guys would do that.
I think winning the state championship this season will stick out with us being so young.
Last night was very physical, but there were hard fouls from (both teams). We're not looking past any of the teams we're playing right now, but if we do play Bolivar again you know it's going to be a pretty good game.
Looking back at that period of time was very interesting to me - just what had happened to it and what was going on there now. It was fascinating.
It felt great to get the buzzer beater. We just had to get the ball to the right guy and we did.
We played pretty well tonight. It's always good to get a win after a loss.
We beat Haywood, McMinn Central and Memphis Mitchell, who beat Bolivar twice this year. I think we've earned ours.
What I really liked seeing was that we're not flooding the floor after the game. I walked into the locker room and our guys are all sitting down. They're not satisfied yet. We're not satisfied yet.
We've dealt with tragedy, with an unfortunate situation involving a team member ... I just feel so good for these kids to have weathered that storm and accomplished this. If there is a team in the state of Tennessee that deserved this, it's my kids.
Even if one of us isn't playing well we always have a couple guys ready to pick us up. We just had a lot of players play well.
It seems like somebody else every day is doing something to remember us.
That's the great thing about us. A different player steps up for us every night. It's always someone different.
Anytime you get more than one player on an all-state team that says a lot. Most years you're lucky to get one. That just shows how dominant and strong West Tennessee basketball is.
Every time we've taken the floor lately, we're setting some kind of history, at least with our school. I guess we're just history in the making.
I knew it was coming, that he was going to test the waters and give it a wing. He feels like he is ready. I think mentally and physically he is ready and has been ready all along. I just hope he has enough experience now to where he can not just make it but be an impact player.
