At the beginning of the year, he knocked off a guy that was top 20 and then he lost the very next match. So it reminds me he's a freshman, but I think since then he's really shown a lot of maturity and progressively gotten better.
We will have a better team for sure next year. And it won't be only from the conference perspective, but from the national one as well. I think we definitely have a shot at fielding one of the top 15, and at least one of the top 20, teams in the country.
He's certainly built a lot of confidence throughout the year. I think he's had some milestones to get over, and now he's beating some guys who are ranked in the top 20.
Brent has beaten top 10- and top 20-ranked wrestlers. As he gains both experience and confidence, he is closer to being considered a veteran.
Going into the tournament, we recognized the considerable parity of the top four teams in the conference. So, we looked at it in terms of if we do really well, we could take the whole thing. And on the other hand, if we do really poorly, we could be fourth.
