We began as a 'shop-at-home' drapery design service.
When we started, we were renting office space in a garage in West Port. There was no room for manufacturing. I sold the products, mainly custom window coverings. In those days, there was a huge network of people sewing from their homes in St. Louis. It was a cottage industry.
We have 36 people in manufacturing right now, and we'll add four to six people to our plant after we move.
Sometimes we'd have five people working on one order from their various homes, so there was a lot of transportation involved.
