This is a difficult surface to get used to, ... Getting broke twice in the first set was tough, but I started to serve well in the second set and that's the key on this surface.

I haven't had any problems since I came back the second time this summer. Every other day helps quite a bit as well, knowing that I now have almost probably 48 hours before I play again. It's obviously much tougher when you've got back-to-back-to-back matches.

She wasn't really allowing me to be inside the baseline as much as I was in the first set. I didn't play a great game to get broken, but overall I got it back together at the end and obviously I'm happy to come out with a victory.

I feel like today I played a lot better. The other night I felt like I was just a second or two off in my reactions. Today I felt like I stepped it up a little and was more consistent and was in control of the points more.

It just came down to the one break. I had my chance to go for the break in the third, and to get back even in the last game, and I just didn't win those couple of points today. So you know, I didn't start the match playing well, but I was able to turn that around and start to play better and played well at the end of the second set. And even the third set I played okay.

I'm never one that necessarily plays their best right off the bat. It took a little while to settle into the conditions and how Rika plays, but I do feel I started to improve some things in the second set.

So even though I didn't play a great game at 2-3 in the second and put a few errors in and got broken, I was able to come back right away and finish off with four really solid games.

I am very satisfied with the way I played the first and third sets, but I really have no idea what happened in the second set. I am looking forward to Indian Wells in two weeks, because I have always done well in California.

It was a strange match with lots of ups and downs from both of us. I started off really well, but from 3-all in the second set, I missed a few and she stepped it up. I didn't think either of us played that well in the first set. But I played a lot better in the second set and I am very happy to win the title.
