I went to a lot of theatre. My parents were very involved with the performing arts. I went to nightclub shows when I was a little girl. We went to Florida and we would go to the Cocoanut Grove down there. We'd go see Lena Horne, Jimmy Durante, Sophie Tucker and Judy Garland.

As it fell upon a day in the merry month of May, sitting in a pleasant shade which a grove of myrtles made.

Carmel and Pacific Grove have been involved for the last six months with a contract with each other where Pacific Grove provides all the fire administrative services, which is a win win for both sites.

Our history is being literally paved over -- buried beneath the concrete. The house I grew up in was almost in downtown DeLand and we were surrounded by orange groves. We have a week and a half off before starting into the OCC. We've got Grove City on the 12th. It was nice to see our young guys go and compete and have success (at Ready) to get ready for the OCC.

We don't have any plans for improvements to that area right now. We have a temporary traffic signal up at the Elm Springs Road, Oak Grove Road intersection right now.

We are out of the eradication mode. There is too much canker. We're in suppression mode, and most of that is going to be done by the grove owner or homeowner.

We didn't play well and they did -- that's a nasty combination. We ran into a Forest Grove team that is fighting for a playoff spot, had a week off and I think we got their attention last time we played them.

Upper Arlington and Grove City are both coming off good seasons and they're just going to make our league that much tougher.

We were a decent team this year, and if we wouldn't have had some of those injuries we would've been up there with some of the great teams Grove City has ever had.

We definitely talked about that. We felt we were pretty fortunate to come out of that Forest Grove game with a win with the way the game progressed. This time of the year we look at it one game at a time. We have the advantage of playing at home and we enjoy playing at our field. But Prairie Grove is a good team and it is very explosive.

We have to come back, get better, get ready and get focused for Grove City, and sectional, district and state and see how many guys we can get out.

This was a perfect game heading into the tournament. Union Grove came out to play and we needed to struggle and show that we could come back in the fourth quarter. We played a fantastic fourth quarter.

We were obviously inconsistent. Downers Grove South was a big reason for that. They challenged every cut offensively and those two big guys just limit your shots. To make matters worse, we allowed our offensive troubles to spill over to the defensive end.

I'm never satisfied. They're doing well, but we've got a ways to go. Our goal is to get back to the final four. We finished second last year and we want to do at least that well. We have to have some experience under pressure before sectionals. We've had it at spots, but team pressure like against Center Grove is the best thing for us.

In the third quarter we played really well, but then we let up in the fourth, and Pleasant Grove is too good a team to let up against. We made a lot of mistakes in the fourth quarter.

I gave them a story about how the mustang and the saint were friends just like Cedar Grove and us. But when the Saint passed away, the mustang had to give the eulogy. Nobody knew how the saint died except the mustang. The mustang was the only one who really knew how the saint died.

In Naples you have 5th Avenue, and you have Coconut Grove in Miami. We want to put Cape Coral on the map.

Chillicothe is getting a lot better. They are a team we match up well with and Grove City doesn't. But Grove City is still the class of the league as far as winning it, and losing to Chillicothe was tough for them. I'm sure they've rebounded from that.

And seek for truth in the groves of Academe.

This is my favorite tournament I've been to since I've been coaching here (American Fork). I love Bruce Hurst Field. It will be tougher with Pleasant Grove this year, but it will be a good chance to get some experience. My kids are really looking forward to it.
