In hindsight, if I could go back in time and relay a message to my younger self, I would tell him to work on his time keeping, and that the job of a drummer is not to be the one that gets noticed the most on stage, or to be the fastest, or the loudest. Above all, it is to be the timekeeper.

We were behind the entire first relay until Kaan caught the kid in the last two lengths. We can't deny that we had some doubts going in. We knew that if we lost the first relay it was going to be really tough to bounce back from. So, getting a win there really sparked everyone for the rest of the meet.

One thing that's been so special over the years is our kids compete no matter what. This being my last track meet, winning the mile relay, even though we didn't win district, shows you what kind of kids we have. Winning the mile relay is always important to us. I think we found four kids that are going to do really well. They're all underclassmen. I expect them to go to Austin, probably this year.

Monica ran strong legs on both of those as well. She also anchored our 4 x 400 relay team to a time that is second best in the north.

I was really pleased with those guys. Winning discus at that meet is a huge accomplishment. I am very encouraged by the direction of our relay swimming. At the NCAA Championships, relays are double points and it's huge. These girls are getting it.

Relay for Life is an opportunity for residents to come together as a community to support community members who have survived cancer, who are fighting cancer, and to remember those who lost their battle with cancer.

Relay for Life gets better and better each year and this year's event is the best one so far. We have been participating in it since its inception and we continue to do it for a good cause.

Our relay team did well. We just need to work on passing the baton, but that's something that we can work on and improve on. Also, not looking back while we're running will help out.

Some of the kids are doing this year what somebody like Ian (Tracy) was doing last year. He's on the 'A' relay now and he was barely on a relay last year.

We qualified for the New England's in the 4x800 relay by finishing third, but it was not our best performance of the year.
