He gives us another dimension on the offensive end. He is really athletic. I think he will give us that added dimension of being able to push the ball up the floor and create easy baskets for us. I also think he can be a tremendous defender in the aggressive style we want to play. On top of that, he's a great kid. He is a very solid kid that puts team first.
He has got the total package. He is a guy who is going to be a really good head coach at the major college level very, very shortly.
My intention is to do everything in my power to meet whatever conditions I'm asked to do by my superiors.
The only reason he came back (for his senior year) is because he wanted to spend another year with his teammates and win a national championship. That was the No. 1 goal in his mind. When I walked out on the floor, that was the first thing he said.
We didn't leave anything in the bag. We played virtually every defense we could play. We ran a bunch of sets we hadn't run in a long time. Both teams really gutted it out.
Mike does a great job. His kids play so hard and they are never out of a game.
I'm excited about coming here and continuing to build this basketball program, playing in the NCAA Tournament and the other things that you are supposed to do.
He plays hard and he brings great energy every time. He guards tough. He's very good in transition.
I made a very poor decision that's reflected negatively on the basketball program and the university, ... For that, I deeply regret it. I take responsibility for my actions. I'm going to do my part to make sure that something like this will never happen again.
