We've had an up-and-down season, but I love it here. Great area, the guys are great, the coaching is good. ... I'm enjoying it.
challenge character good guys hold january ourselves played push rise stanley team win
We have to hold ourselves more accountable. Two years ago, I played on a team that went 1-10 in January and went on to win the Stanley Cup. We had good character guys. We have good character guys here. We just have to rise to the challenge and have to push each other.
good
They're a good team. They just outworked us.
chance dallas great last saw tampa teams verge year
I've had the chance to be part of two great teams in Dallas and last year in Tampa Bay, and those are experiences I can take with me to Long Island. I look at the Islanders the way I saw our team in Tampa Bay, as a team on the verge of something great.
minute regret special stanley time
I don't regret a minute of my time in Tampa. Any time you do something special like (winning a Stanley Cup), you always want it to continue. Unfortunately, I didn't get the call.
bringing great guys job
He's done a great job bringing the guys together.
dreading talking
I was dreading it and he was excellent. It was like he was one of the guys, talking to him.
hit move tried
I thought it was going to hit me in the head. I tried to move and it hit me in the arm.
caught couple defensive guy tough worst wrong
I wasn't very comfortable. I'm my own worst critic. It was a tough adaptation. I'm a defensive guy and I got caught a couple of times going the wrong way.
