When you can start the section against the perennial power, Wash High, and play like we did, it's a good way to start. I told the kids before the game, that no matter what happens, it's only one game. But it's nice to win.
It does give you an advantage. But we've never gone down south in 20 years, and it hasn't really hurt us.
The last game he started, he had some trouble with walks. The rain-outs probably helped us. We were able to work with him the last two days in the gym and he did what we asked him to do; keep the ball low and in on their hands, just throw strikes basically.
He hit his spots really well. He got ahead of the batters. I think that's probably the biggest thing he did (Thursday) as compared to the last time he pitched.
