There hasn't been much talk about (last year), which is actually nice. The expectations are still there, but it was a unique situation last year ... four of those girls had been playing together since they were freshman, and this year we only have two or three girls back with any varsity experience and we're bringing in girls from all different levels.

There's no doubt (Valley is) tough, but we haven't looked at anything past Thursday. I've emphasized to these kids that you have to take it one game at a time.

It was good to get in a match. With the wet weather, both teams have had trouble practicing outside.

These girls kind of got thrown into the fire. But I think all of our girls have gotten better as the year has gone along. It's a great group of kids who have been willing to learn.

She never played without her back to the basket as a kid growing up because she was always taller, but now she's bringing the ball up the floor and I don't think it's phased her a bit. Her athletic ability is what carries her through.

Carlson is a nice player ... we've really got to concentrate on her. I think Sarah is smart enough and quick enough to guard her.
