What we sought was someone who had been at the championship level. Auburn has been the gold standard in recent years, and Kim built the women's program . . . her training techniques and recruiting come with the highest reviews. This is a true leader.
These were two hard-working individuals and they poured their heart and soul into this program. They know that change is in the interests of the University of Texas.
Auburn has been a pretty good feeder for swimming excellence.
Sports is a competitive industry. We want to always be in a championship hunt and that doesn't always mean being No. 1 all the time. It's about consistency and quality day in and day out.
