It had to come to an end, sooner or later. It's time for us to bounce back and play hard against two potential playoff opponents (Milwaukee and Chicago) on the road. We have to be at our best once again.
We've got to continue to try and keep winning. We've just got to try and keep building on what we're doing.
We did a much better job of contesting his shots. He did a really good job at creating space and was able to knock down a few shots, but with Speedy, you want to try and make him into a jump shooter first, but you have to contest those shots.
The second half, we did a good job of forcing those guys out of what they like to do. We did a much better job in the second half at making the extra pass instead of trying to take too much on a one-of-one situation.
I've been a starter in this league a long time. I've come off the bench some years, too. I've been effective at both. So for me to step in in the absence of somebody and start and be effective, that shouldn't be a surprise to no one.
Now it's up to us to make the adjustments.
Definitely we feel we can play with them. Miami, we've played well against them. Detroit, they've played well, but we know we're capable of beating them. For us to go in and get one on their home floor would say something.
That's not my style to blame the officiating, but the game was obviously called a different way than it was in New Jersey. Now it's up to us to make the adjustments.
You never have to worry about him throwing you under the bus to the media. He'll tell you what he thinks to your face, but he's totally got your back.
It makes you want to do the same things that he's doing. You feed off of that.
I'm not just going to let him walk me where he wants to position himself. I'm not going to let him beat me with his best stuff. He's going to have to make some counter moves and do something to keep me off-balance, because I'm going to fight him.
I keep telling everyone, I've never been the type of guy who can take two shots and I'm going to hit them. I need to get some looks.
I just tried to do what I had to do. I've been playing a long time, been a starter in this league and come off the bench too, and been effective at both. So to step in and start and be effective shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.
