He used various techniques, including having other people distract the employees. He'd then go in and disconnect the register, put it in a trash bag and then leave the stores.

He did get away with it for awhile, but we worked closely with Disney security and with Disney. It was really a collaborative effort to try and catch him.

I think this is sort of baffling to investigators because it appears both victims were cooperating and for an unknown reason they shot the husband execution-style and killed him.
bold clerk customers kept luck store time until wait
He would come during the day at a time when there weren't many customers in the store and wait until the clerk was distracted. It is very bold and after he got away with it the first time, you can see he kept pressing his luck to see if he could keep getting away with it.
