I see it on pit road when we make better pit stops and that comes from harder work back at the shop, practicing, testing, trying to get better.

When I first started running here, I didn't get around the place very good. It was just a real hot, slick race track for me. I don't know what happened, but we showed up one week and this thing was just really, really fast and we've been fast ever since. So it's something in the car or in the set-up of the car that Tony Jr. found -- maybe at a test at Richmond or somewhere -- that has helped us here. That's really how we won those races and turned it around from the first races we had here. So that has a lot to do with it.

To think anybody could come from as far back in the field as we were and win this race is beyond me. You saw it. I couldn't believe it.

You go back to the start of time. One cave guy was fighting another cave guy because his club was bigger than his or his woman had longer hair. Thats competition.

Not paying his bills, sleeping on the floor. But all he wanted to do was race and that came first. It still gets me to start talking about Earnhardt. I get emotional.

I'm glad it's over with and I'm ready to go to Richmond,

I'm racing for the wins and racing up front and finishing in the top 10. It's puzzling to me how you can judge a driver on that.

I like working with him. We have a really good working relationship. It's even better now than it was. We always had a great relationship growing up and all that -- racing together and all that. But this racing gets to you sometimes and we got to beating on each other a little bit. So it probably was a good thing.

I don't like the package, but we haven't found an alternative. They've changed and changed and changed over the years, and we're about out of changes as far as trying to find a happy medium of being able to get where we're not running over the top of each other but yet put on a good show.

He and I had a really great working relationship. He knew what he wanted and he knew what we had accomplished. He wanted to be with us and we wanted him to be there.
