Our goalie Ryan Bock had the most incredible save I have ever seen in high school soccer. He stopped a shot that should have gone in and then got back up to stop another shot. Even the ref, who is supposed to be impartial, was clapping. It was a real morale booster.
Our goal going in was to hold them scoreless in the first half and we nearly did that.
Well, they had very few opportunities to score. Lauren Tarver played great defense and she plays with all heart.
Travis Lyon sent numerous balls through the defense. He got at least two assists.
We've been struggling to score so this is great.
We had the upper hand in the first half. I figured it was just a matter of time.
Ryan Bock, our sophomore goalie, made some incredible saves to keep them scoreless in that first half. I think he's the best keeper Bear River has had in the past 10 years.
Colfax will be the big one. We can make our season with a win.
This is a wake-up call. It's (the PVL) a tough league. This group has a lot of fortitude. I think we have a good team, a good chance in league. We just have to work a little bit harder.
It was a tough goal - an off-balance shot. We kept hammering away. We played hard throughout the match.
It was a well-deserved win. Travis Lyon dominated the mid-field. He and Walker Davis worked the ball very well. It was one of our better passing games.
It looked like a corner kick practice for Forest Lake out there.
I'm trying to find the words. This is difficult. We had high hopes. We had won six in a row and been playing very well. We rolled through the second half of league undefeated.
I'm happy for my guys to see what it's like to play a good, tight, tough soccer game. Both teams played a great game.
I just told them we are three-time defending league champs and to be very, very proud of that. As painful as this is, we shouldn't lose sight of that accomplishment.
