defending difficult execute extremely national played
They played like they were the defending national champions. They are difficult to defend and they execute extremely well.
four guards looking plays using
UNLV plays four guards. So using four guards was something we were looking at doing anyway.
count good help knew pleasant wants
She's someone I can count on to help us out when we're in trouble. She's aggressive, and she wants to play. She's been a pleasant surprise. I knew she could be good for us. I just didn't know she could be this good this quickly.
ability basket catch drives people remarkable unorthodox
She's very unorthodox on offense. She drives to the basket and has this remarkable ability to catch a lot of people off balance.
happy improved obviously plus work year
She's improved dramatically from one year to the next, plus she's healthy. She's still got some things to work on overall, but we're obviously very happy with where she's at.
game good stepped
She had a good game and stepped up for us.
chance hot point
She didn't have a chance to play. But she wasn't at that point being a big factor. But who knows, she can get hot and she's who they look at when they really need a hoop.
missed series shot three
She missed a three-point shot, went right back and shot another three-point shot. I think she shot three in one series and made one of them. She's got to shoot, and when she's open, she's got to shoot.
anybody background buy dream good gotten hard nobody stands visualize
If we had gotten her, we would have been good right away. I don't think she could visualize the same dream that I had. I just had nothing to sell. The only thing I had was my idea of success. It's hard to get anybody to buy in when you've got nobody in the stands and your background is that your RPI is 325 out of 330 teams.
choice hand happy
My hand was forced, and I had no choice (but) to play more people. But I'm happy with the way everyone has responded.
early sure
We have to make sure that we don't get intimidated early on because they like to play really physical.
against basketball best energy focus loss playing regular toward
We have to let this loss go and focus on playing our best basketball to end the regular season. I want all their energy channeled toward playing their best against BYU on Saturday. It's the least we can do for all seniors.
advantage fought full
We had an opportunity. We fought for that. We just didn't take full advantage of it.
