We need to look at whether to continue on with the project and where to possibly locate the facility. Those are things we need to look at.
Information will be shared and hopefully, cases will be solved quicker.
We went into this study with an aggressive timetable. This will give Portage County time to step back and look at the material at no additional cost to the project.
It is time to start putting some of these ideas down on paper. Hiring a design firm to come up with some plans will give us a better idea of the square footage needs and it will allow us to see where we can cut down on some of our costs.
We now have two additional sets of eyes to look at all the data.
The jail we have now was clearly not built big enough. We didn't look far enough ahead and we shouldn't be too surprised we are in this spot now. At the time, the county focused on how much we could spend rather than what we needed.
