We've got to play a lot better defense than we did in the first game. Obviously, we're facing a team with more speed than South Whidbey. We need to continue to improve, have everybody do their job on defense and keep them in the corral.
Jeff VandeGrift has been in control and has gotten most of the reps. He played a lot better last week. He's getting better and grasping what we're trying to do.
Overall, it was night and day from last week. As bad as we were last week, we were good this week. It's just a combination of things. I couldn't be happier over the week.
We've got to defend the run, defend the Wing-T and put them into long-yardage situations so they have to throw.
We need to clean that up. You just can't do that against anyone.
We need to build off what we've been doing and clean up our mistakes on offense. I feel we've sort of stopped ourselves in the two ballgames we have lost. The more times we have the ball, the better we can be.
They have a lot of quickness. They have some very good backs. They're really explosive, much the same type of team as Sammamish. They run the Wing-T and get outside.
It was disappointing. For whatever reason, we didn't get it done. We didn't play with a lot of confidence.
