Gerald Lee Laird IIIis an American professional baseball catcher for the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican Baseball League. He graduated La Quinta High School in 1998, and played college baseball at Cypress College. He was born in Westminster, California and made his MLB debut in 2003 with the Texas Rangers. He was unbelievable. He's pitching great. Now he's starting to get comfortable and get into the flow of the game. When he came over, he hadn't pitched that many innings. Now he's getting into a groove and really commanding the inside part of the plate.

Coco is our closer. We live and die with him. I think he is great. Sometimes you have a night you can't find the rhythm.

We were cruising right along. He left a couple of pitches up and over the plate. That stuff happens.

Being patient and relaxed is the key. You have to let the ball come to you, because it moves so much. You get too aggressive and go after a ball, with the late movement, that's when you have some problems.
