civic half kids matched playing pride quite scoreboard second won
I don't want our kids playing the scoreboard because, quite frankly, we won't always be here at the Civic Center. In the second half we matched baskets and we won by five. I don't think we should do that. We should take more pride in what we're doing.
bad certainly concern defense fact game hides key second
I would say our defense got us going, but it certainly wasn't the key to the game because I thought we let up many, many times. They all elevate. It hides sometimes bad defense. That was my concern tonight, the fact they were penetrating, particularly in the second half.
becoming ben gifts good great january pushing realize second showcase starting understand year
I think in his second year with us, Caron started to realize in January just how good he could be with a lot of pushing and prodding. Ben was the same way. I think Rudy (Gay) is starting to understand some of the great gifts that he has and he's starting to showcase them a lot more and just becoming a better player.
awful came carried certainly flat losses momentum shot
It certainly was one of the most disappointing losses we've had in an awful long time. We came out flat as heck. Just as we thought, that shot (yesterday) carried their momentum right into today.
certainly losses
It certainly was one of the more disappointing losses we've had in an awfully long time.
awful came certainly incredibly kids losses proud
It certainly was one of the more disappointing losses we've had in an awful long time. I'm proud of the way the kids came back. But I'm incredibly, incredibly disappointed in the loss and incredibly disappointed in myself.
control eventually fighting game kentucky kept
I thought we would eventually take control of the game, and Kentucky kept fighting back. That was not in the game plan.
bad change continue foul hurt stroke
It hurt us. And it's going to continue to hurt us because some of that's not going to get better. We have some real bad foul shooters who won't change their stroke and continue to miss.
seconds shooting shot shots team
We've got to take away 3-point shooting and not get fatigued by the shot clock. They make as many shots under 12 seconds as any team you're going to play.
april holding impossible
What we want to do is come back here in April holding up a trophy. But we're going to need your help. This has got to be an impossible place to play.
clearly involved kid national player special
He's a four-year stay. He's been involved with championships and a national championship. He's made as many big three-pointers as any kid I've ever had. ... Rashad clearly has been a special player for us. He's a special kid.
blame scratch
He responded well after being very leery when he got hit. And I don?t blame him. The scratch was pretty good.
capable coached good
He's as good a passer as I've ever coached in 35 years. He's capable of 10-15 assists every night.
expected last season type
He?s having the type of season we all expected him to have last year.
