We started the year with a victory and we ended the regular season with a victory. I was glad for the seniors to get a win over Perry. We were very aggressive and ready to wrestle whereas earlier in the evening versus ADM that wasn't the case.
We've taken some positive steps forward since Holiday break, but this evening we took some steps backwards. Our opponents were tough and they took it to us.
Sean wrestled his best at the end and there was a lot of improvement. The effort was really good.
No doubt our most improved wrestler. Kids like him make us coaches look really good.
This was our best tournament of the season. We're starting to come around at the right time.
Jim had a little trouble getting on track. I'm sure if he'd been in the lineup all season we'd see a different final outcome.
We had a good start and a good finish, but we really had a lapse in between.
We had a good day. The tournament, thanks to all the great help, went the smoothest ever and most importantly our kids wrestled hard and with a lot of intensity.
This was his 100th win at Nevada and we haven't had a 100-win guy in I don't know how long. Evan had a big day.
This year at state he was ready to go and he dominated his first opponent. It was a great performance and he's obviously going to be tough to replace.
We were only one point away from being eighth. The wrestlers have been working especially hard to improve their first half of the season's performances and overall they started the new year much improved.
We got out of the basement of the Raccoon River Conference and we then wrestled our very best at districts.
Evan performed well and Jim wrestled two really fine matches to get into the finals.
Evan is a great competitor and exceptionally dedicated. He's a great example for our program and a champion regardless of the outcome.
Zack wrestled really well in coming back to try for second and we knew that Sean was going to have a tough go.
They made some big plays when they needed to, and we weren't able to make them when we needed them.
They did a good job of playing defense on the perimeter, and that ability to defend out front kept us from getting our inside game going. We missed some easy looks inside, too.
I'm not so impressed with the eighth-place finish. But the kids wrestled hard and I think we're ready to go into the sectional tournament.
