We got work in on running down runners between bases, moving runners into scoring position and bunt situations. These are fundamentals you usually don't work on until district play.
I am disappointed in how we played. I really think it's a mental block. We were so keyed up, we had a letdown.
Casey is our ace, but who will pitch is still up in the air. You play district opponents twice and you face people you play during the summer. It's nice to have a couple of extras.
Casey can throw six pitches, and she can hit the spots with all of them. She does all the little things she needs to do to be a great player.
What Erica did, she's been capable of that all year. I think she is getting comfortable playing for us. She was relaxed. I can't say enough about her.
We can still have a winning season and end on a positive note. We can close out and play ball like we should have all year. We haven't played our best ball yet.
We're not overlooking John Tyler, but Mesquite has a solid team. They have good pitching, catching fielding and speed.
We've been blessed because of the weather before. At least we got what we hoped for, at least four games against good competition.
Ashley saved us with the catch against Huntington. That was an extra-base hit if she doesn't catch it. I feel better about our outfield now.
I'm not upset. We just need to keep working and not give up on what we've done.
