Gov. Rell will give the scorecard and its findings and recommendations serious consideration. Those recommendations may well be the basis for a health care summit meeting at some point down the road. Some of the scorecards findings, most notably the number of uninsured Connecticut men, women and children, are cause for serious concern.

Gov. Rell is extremely frustrated that, for the third time, the House and Senate majority leadership gave in to special interests and voted for a bill that would severely hamper the way the state conducts business and dramatically increase the cost to taxpayers of doing business.

Gov. Rell believes this landmark legislation will go a long way toward easing congestion on Connecticut highways and encourage greater use of trains and buses by Connecticut commuters.

Governor Rell will not move forward with a nomination for chief justice until she is satisfied that all questions regarding the conduct of individual Supreme Court justices have been answered and all concerns addressed. She expects that these answers will come through the Judiciary Committee, the Judicial Review Board and the Supreme Court itself.

Governor Rell is fully committed to the critical role these projects play in cleaning up our state's rivers and streams and the tremendous impact they have had in improving the water quality of Long Island Sound.

It's easy to say they should simply, once the question has been raised, be fired. It's not quite that simple in reality.

If enough legislators sign the petition, that will be an indication that a majority is now willing to act.

As a parent, Gov. Rell is well aware of the risks, temptations and peer pressure on campus, especially for college freshmen. One of the goals of this initiative is a better support network for these students.
