Not too many contractors would stop with the threatening presence of police. Some solution will have to be found, because the men are not going to leave. They live here (in Mamaroneck) and it has been their outlet for finding work for decades.
The site is not perfect. There are a lot of community members that feel uncomfortable about that.
We welcome the meeting to continue the dialogue. When it goes to the county level, we really have an opportunity to hear from people who have sites that work. There are successful sites in other localities and I believe we could accomplish that in Mamaroneck.
